Newport Lightning 11U Black wins Fall Octoberfest Tournament

The Newport Lightning Basketball Club’s 11U/5th Grade Black team continued its strong showing in the Fall by winning the Fall Octoberfest recently at Fountain Valley High School.

The Lightning topped Team PD in the championship game, 39-32, after going undefeated in pool play.

The Lightning also beat Eastvale Bulls and Beast-Up, led by the inside-outside scoring of Trent Liolios, Ryder Brooks, Jordan Stucki and Will Purcell. Jason and AJ Plumb, Calder Overfelt and Carter Healy were tremendous throughout the tournament and provided key baskets and great defensive play.

Sanjay Tewari led the offense all weekend dishing out assists and becoming a key scoring threat.
