Newport Lightning wins Big One X

The Newport Lightning Basketball Club continued its successful fall season winning The Big One X two-day tournament in Orange on Oct. 4.

The Lightning went undefeated, beating Triple Threat, Evolution, South Coast and Eastvale in the championship game.

The NLBC was led by stellar play of Roddie Anderson, Ryder Brooks, Brendan Morris, Jordan Stucki and Sanjay Tewari.

Jack Salmon played tremendous defense, while Santiago Forbes hit a big three to win a close game against Evolution.

Brendan Jennings, James Eadie, Preston Pitchess, Rod Oskuian and David Samoya played key minutes and helped the Lightning to the title.
