GIRLS’ GOLF

Pacific Coast League finals

Corona del Mar High’s Alyaa Abdulghany captured the invididual championship after she shot 70-69—139, one-under par, by two strokes on the Mesa Linda course at Costa Mesa Country Club Thursday.

Cameron Lee of Beckman shot 141 for second.

Abdulghany advances to the CIF Southern Section Southern Individual Regional Monday at Dad Miller Golf Course in Anaheim.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Corona del Mar 15, Woodbridge 9

IRVINE — Ashton Jajonie scored five goals for the Sea Kings in Thursday’s Pacific Coast League game on the road.

Brendan Hack added four goals for the Sea Kings (16-3, 7-0 in league), and Jon Polos scored twice. Nigel Bress made four saves.

CdM, ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays at University on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Sage Hill 16, Oxford Academy 2

CYPRESS — Jaclyn Gerschultz, Isabella Deckey and Lauren Fishman each swept in singles as the Lightning clinched second place in the Academy League Thursday.

Sage Hill (10-6, 6-2 in league) is ranked No. 9 in CIF Southern Section Division 2.

The Lightning host the Academy League individual championships Tuesday and Wednesday at The Tennis Club of Newport Beach.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Newport Harbor 15, Edison 3

Nicole Knickerbocker and Hannah Blower swept in singles for the Sailors in the Sunset League Thursday.

Courtney Howarth and Ellie Zielinski swept in doubles, while Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza won twice in doubles. Annie LaGrandeur and Livi Zehnder won two of three in doubles for Newport Harbor (12-5, 7-2 in league).

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBAL

Corona del Mar def. Woodbridge

IRVINE — Paige Migliori amassed 52 assists to help lead the Sea Kings to a 25-11, 24-26, 25-17, 25-15 Pacific Coast League win Thursday.

Katie Craig recorded 23 kills and Jessie Harris added 16 kills for CdM (17-3, 7-0 in league).

Newport Harbor def. Marina

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Ellie Hagadorn compiled 35 assists, nine digs and five kills to help lead the Sailors to a 25-21, 22-25, 25-15, 25-13 Sunset League win Thursday.

Gabby Shelly (eight kills), Jaclyn Brown (11 kills), and Sammie Yeager (13 digs and two aces) also contributed for Newport Harbor (12-8, 5-2 in league).
