Bojan Hrlec scored a game-high six goals, including a penalty shot with one second left that propelled the Anteaters into the eight-team MPSF Tournament.
UCI (13-12, 1-7 in conference), which ended a 17-match conference regular-season losing streak, needed a three-goal victory to earn a berth in the conference tournament over Pepperdine (9-13, 1-7), with which it tied for seventh.
The ‘Eaters will face top-seeded and No. 1–ranked Pacific at 10 a.m. on Friday in Stockton.

NAIA Championships
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Vanguard University junior Josh Espinoza finished 23rd among 319 individual runners to earn All-American honors on Sunday.
The top 30 individuals are recognized as All-Americans.
Espinoza completed the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, four seconds and his placing is the third-best in the history of the Vanguard program.

Newport Chase
Orange Coast College won three races and UC Irvine won the fourth in the inaugural event on Saturday in the Back Bay and Newport Harbor.
OCC won the men’s open eight race, covering the three-mile course in 15 minutes, 16 seconds.
UCI won the women’s open eight in 18:28.
OCC won the men’s and women’s novice eight races in 18:02 and 19:29, respectively.
