Water Polo: Gilchrist, Warde, Musselman make Canada Cup roster

Newport Harbor High alumna Kaleigh Gilchrist, Newport Beach resident Danielle Warde and Corona del Mar High sophomore Maddie Musselman all have been named to the USA Water Polo women’s senior national team for the Canada Cup.

The Canada Cup will take place Monday through Dec. 8, in Gatineau, Canada. It is considered a primer for the Holiday Cup, which will be played Dec. 11-15 at Foothill High. The Canada Cup also features teams from Australia, Greece, Russia and the Netherlands, in addition to host Canada.

Gilchrist is a senior at USC, where she helped the Trojans win the NCAA title earlier this year. Warde is a redshirt junior at UC Irvine and Musselman is an emerging high school player.

All three of the locals played at the USA Water Polo Futures 50 Classic in late October.
