Breakdown: Edison’s home opener is against Oaks Christian (0-1), and it involves two of the top eight teams in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll … Chargers (1-0), ranked No. 1, rallied for a 48-47 win at Tesoro last week, while the No. 8 Lions lost on the road to West Hills Chaminade 47-10 … Lions are still trying to find a replacement for Florida commit Matt Corral, a quarterback who transferred to Long Beach Poly for his senior year … Edison might face three quarterbacks, sophomore Marco Siderman, senior Trae Johnson and junior Josh Calvert, who all played last week and combined to complete 12 of 19 passes for 80 yards against the No. 7-ranked team in the state by CalHiSports.com … Oaks Christian features two standout pass rushers — Thibodeaux, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound transfer from Los Angeles Dorsey who is considered the top player in the 2019 recruiting class, and Bo Calvert, a 6-5, 215-pounder committed to USC … Edison, No. 17 in the state, is led by O’Connor, a quarterback committed to Yale … Oaks Christian hasn’t dropped consecutive games since it opened the 2014 season with losses.
