Key Vaqueros: Jr. QB Marc Filia (50 of 92 passing for 849 yards, seven TDs and one INT); Jr. RB Cory Bautista (37 carries for 150 yards and three TDs); Sr. WR-OLB Rian Fields (13 catches for 212 yards and three TDs; 26 tackles, three sacks)
Breakdown: Estancia (0-2) has never started the season 0-3 under coach Mike Bargas, who is in his 11th year … Irvine (2-1) has beaten Estancia each time during nonleague action the past five years … Eagles have dropped nine of their last 10 games against Pacific Coast League schools … Vaqueros beat visiting Western 42-35 last week and matched last year’s win total, despite allowing 479 passing yards … Estancia has lost four in a row dating back to last year … Irvine is in the middle of a three-game stretch in which it plays at home.
