Key Barons: Sr. QB Nick Welch (100 of 179 passing for 1,570 yards, 11 TDs and six INTs; 87 carries for 721 yards and 10 TDs); Sr. RB Benn Vallier (95 carries for 738 yards and 10 TDs); Jr. WR-DB Kishaun Sykes (17 catches for 333 yards and three TDs; 11 carries for 46 yards and one TD)

Key Chargers: Sr. QB Griffin O’Connor (105 of 199 passing for 1,503 yards, 14 TDs and nine INTs); Sr. WR-DB David Atencio (40 catches for 703 yards and nine TDs; four INTs, 20 tackles); Sr. DE-RB Hunter Griggs (six sacks, 43 tackles; 25 carries 132 yards and five TDs)

Breakdown: Edison (5-3, 2-1 in league) and rival Fountain Valley (6-2, 2-1) meet for the 50th time, and there’s more at stake than the Battle for the Bell, as both teams entered this week tied for second place in the Sunset League with Huntington Beach … Chargers, the two-time defending league champions, lost to Los Alamitos 24-16 last week, suffering their first setback in league since 2014 … Barons and Chargers are one game back of Los Alamitos with two games to go in league … Edison, which shares the No. 10 spot in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll with Redlands East Valley, hasn’t been able to run the ball effectively without running back Jack Carmichael (fractured ankle) … Fountain Valley, No. 6 in Division 6, has lost 12 straight to Edison … Chargers, who are the home team this year, lead the series with the Barons at 34-14-1.
