Week 4 High School Football Preview: Ocean View vs. Katella
Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday at Glover Stadium.
Key Seahawks: Sr. RB Noah De Loera (55 carries for 434 yards and six TDs); Jr. LB Alex Nieves (28 tackles; two tackles for a loss); Sr. DE Micah Cianca (13 tackles, three tackles for a loss, two sacks, one INT, one forced fumble).
Key Knights: Sr. QB Nathan Arrington (5-foot-11, 215 pounds; 307 yards of total offense and three TDs vs. Westminster last week); Sr. TE Edward Williams (6-foot-1, 200 pounds; 100-plus receiving yards and two TDs vs. Westminster); Jr. TE/MLB Samuel Rosario (6-foot-2, 200 pounds).
Breakdown: It is hard to say if the Seahawks (3-0) have seen the best that new quarterback Noah Hickman has to offer. The junior has not surpassed the 200-yard mark through the air in any game this season, but Ocean View coach Luis Nunez says those numbers are subject to circumstance. Teams have not filled the box against the Seahawks, so they have taken what the defense has given them … Senior running back Noah De Loera has been the beneficiary, rushing for 434 yards and six TDs for undefeated Ocean View …Towering receivers Nathaniel Washington and Adam Meyer remain end zone threats, as the duo has combined to catch five of Hickman’s six passing scores … Katella was shut out by Kennedy in its opener, but the Knights (3-1) are averaging 28 points per game in their three wins against Western, Esperanza and Westminster.
