Costa Mesa girls’ volleyball beats Saddleback to improve to 14-4 on the year

Senior outside hitter Courtney Moore led the Costa Mesa High girls’ volleyball team with 15 kills and four service aces, as the Mustangs downed host Santa Ana Saddleback, 25-23, 25-18, 25-10, on Wednesday.

Malia Tufuga contributed 17 assists, 12 kills, and three aces for the Mustangs (14-4, 4-1). Felicia Crenshaw posted 10 kills and seven blocks, Ashley Nguyen had 14 assists among her sets, and libero Rae Galarion had 12 digs.

Costa Mesa is one game behind Laguna Beach for first place in the Orange Coast League. The Mustangs will host the Breakers (9-5, 5-0) on Oct. 12.

The Roadrunners (9-11, 0-5) have yet to win a game in league.
