Gibb, partner third at AVP Seattle Open

Huntington Beach resident Jake Gibb and partner Taylor Crabb finished third at the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Seattle Open beach volleyball tournament completed Sunday.

Gibb and Crabb, the No. 1-seeded team, lost 21-17, 21-17 to eventual champions Billy Allen and Stafford Slick, seeded No. 5, in the semifinals. Gibb and Crabb split $7,000.

UC Irvine product Ty Loomis and partner Maddison McKibbin finished 13^th and split $2,000.

In the women’s event, Costa Mesa resident Sara Hughes and partner Kelly Claes finished ninth and split $2,500.
