Pacifica Christian Orange County’s Allyson Scharrer makes All-Academy League first team

Pacifica Christian Orange County High junior setter Allyson Scharrer made the All-Academy League first team in girls’ volleyball.

Scharrer led the Tritons (15-10, 4-4 in league) to a third-place finish in the league, as well as the CIF Southern Section Division 9 final in just their second year of postseason eligibility. The Tritons lost the championship match to La Puente in five sets.

Scharrer distributed 308 assists, adding 80 service aces, 75 digs and 38 kills.

Sophomore middle blocker Casie Carlson, a second-team selection, had 134 kills, 67 digs, 40 aces and 11 blocks.

Hailey MacKay, another sophomore middle blocker for the Tritons, received honorable mention. She had a team-high 135 kills to go with 56 digs, 32 aces and 19 blocks.

In the CIF State Southern California Regional Division V tournament, the Tritons lost their first-round match at Cudahy Elizabeth in three sets.
