Newport girls’ tennis tops Sunny Hills
Nicole Knickerbocker swept in singles as the Newport Harbor High girls’ tennis team won at Sunny Hills on Tuesday, 14-4, in the Sailors’ season opener.
Knickerbocker won by scores of 6-1, 6-1, 6-0. Lane McArdell won two out of three singles sets and the Sailors also won eight of nine doubles sets, with Lauren Lipkowski and Rachel Davis sweeping at No. 2 doubles.
Newport Harbor plays host to Laguna Beach on Wednesday.
