OCC women’s soccer still looking for season’s first win after battling El Camino to 1-1 draw

A goal in the match’s waning minutes by El Camino College prevented the visiting Orange Coast College women’s soccer from earning its first victory of the season Tuesday, as the teams battled to a 1-1 tie at Murdock Stadium in Torrance.

El Camino’s Chandel Buena scored in the 89th minute to knot the nonconference match at 1 off an assist from Kathryn Wilson. OCC (0-1-2) had grabbed the lead in the 51st minute when forward Haley Auer scored her first goal of the season, with Tiffany Chantler assisting on the play.

El Camino is 0-0-2 on the season. OCC next faces Moorpark at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ventura College.
