OCC women’s volleyball earns win No. 600 in program history

The Orange Coast College women’s volleyball team earned the 600th victory in the program’s illustrious 40-year history during a four-team quad Wednesday.

The Pirates faced Glendale Community College and College of the Desert at home, and handily won against both. The 25-9, 24-26, 25-15, 25-22 victory against Glendale gave OCC the milestone triumph.

In the second match against Desert, OCC (2-1) rolled to a 26-24, 25-20, 25-18 sweep.

Izzy Mariotti led the Pirates with 12 kills in the victory against Glendale, and Hannah Del Barto added 10.

Against Desert, Del Barto led the way with 13 kills and Rylee Adair anchored the defense with 24 digs.

The Pirates host another four-team quad Friday against Southwestern, Santa Monica and Citrus colleges. The first match starts at 2 p.m.
