Green Chargers dominate all facets of game

The Huntington Beach Green Chargers flexed their defensive muscle, offensive prowess and special teams skills Saturday, and the result was a 30-0 shutout of the Cypress Blue Centurions in a Pop Warner Football Jr. Pee Wee Division game at Cypress.
Green Chargers split end Kyle Drinnon scored twice, his first touchdown coming on a reverse and later scored when he weaved his way to the end zone on a punt return. Nick Warren scored his first touchdown of the season on a 55-yard run.
Chase Ault and EJ Ginnis continued to put points on the board for the Green Chargers, as well. Ault showed his speed by blowing past several Cypress defenders for a 50-yard run and Ginnis caught a 40-yard pass from quarterback Griffin O’Connor.
Cypress couldn’t get past Huntington’s dominating defensive line led by the tackling of Karson Ayres. Zane Webster, Kyle Scotia, Luke Hoggard and Xavier Salgado all recorded tackles for loss to contribute to the shutout.
The Green Chargers (4-0) hit the road again this week to play Yorba Linda (2-2) Saturday.
