Openings available for OC Marathon

There are 200 openings remaining in Sunday’s OC Marathon, as well as spots available in the half-marathon and 5K races.

Online registration is available until Wednesday night at https://www.ocmarathon.com.

On-site registration will be available during the Active Lifestyle Expo, which runs Friday and Saturday at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa.

The expo is free to attend, but there are parking fees, that also apply for race day. There is a charge of $8 for preferred parking or $5 for general parking. Preferred parking for race day can be purchased for $5 at the expo.

The expo hours are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The OC Marathon’s “Kids Run the OC” will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the OC Fair & Events Center.

The kids run, in its third year, is an obesity prevention program that is on pace to host a record number of schools and kids.

The event is a mile run. Those who started the program earlier will have accumulated the equivalent of 25.2 miles of activity through training.
