Jack McBean, a former Corona del Mar High standout who signed with the Los Angles Galaxy in January at age 16, scored his first goal in his Major League Soccer debut Sunday in Houston.

McBean, a forward who converted an assist from Chad Barrett in the 88th minute of a 3-1 loss to the Dynamo, becomes the youngest player to score for the Galaxy.

The Newport Beach resident, who has played in MLS Reserve League games, made his first MLS start, as the Galaxy used its regular-season finale as an opportunity to rest players for the playoffs.
