SANTA BARBARA — Senior Trent Baxter scored a game-high three goals for the Anteaters in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game Saturday.
The two teams entered tied for No. 5 in this week’s national poll.
Alan Robertson and Winston Newland had two goals each and goalie Jimmy Friedrich made 10 saves for UCI (15-11, 2-6 in the MPSF).

Concordia def. Vanguard
IRVINE — The No. 1-ranked Eagles completed an undefeated Golden State Athletic Conference season with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 victory Saturday night.
Brooke Marino led Concordia (32-1, 18-0 in conference) with 14 kills.
Jamie Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had 13 kills to lead No. 10-ranked Vanguard (21-12, 10-8).

COSTA MESA — Megan Hanson scored 16 points to lead the Pirates in the nonconference loss Saturday.
Tessie Pikula had 11 rebounds and was second on OCC (1-1) with six points.

NCAA West Regional
STANFORD — Freshman Matt Neev was UC Irvine’s top runner Saturday.
Neev finished 74th with a time of 30 minutes, 55 seconds over 10,000 meters at the Stanford University Golf Course. Lawi Lalang of Arizona was the individual champion in 28:34.
UCI’s Brett Matejka placed 95th (31:24), Steven Melena was 101st (31:32) and Nick Osborne 133rd (32:09).
Brennen Halliday finished 142nd in 32:22, Rex Nelson 148th in 32:48 and Andrew Snyder 151st in 32:58 to round out UCI’s seven competitors.
UCI was 19th as a team.

NCAA West Regional
STANFORD — Junior Chloe Fata was the first UC Irvine runner across the finish line Saturday.
She placed 85th over 6,000 meters at the Stanford University Golf Course with a time of 22 minutes, 2 seconds.
UCI’s Melissa Mead was 115th in 22:23, Maggie McDuffee 152nd in 22:57 and Kaycee Holcomb 173rd in 23:16.
Marthie Ponty placed 193rd in 23:56, Maggie Newton-Neal was 202nd in 24:18 and Nicole Mendoza 206th in 24:29.
UCI finished 23rd among 31 teams with 707 points.
