High School Roundup: Eagles rally to beat CdM

COSTA MESA — Seniors Carlos Moreno (one goal, one assist) and Carlos Barrios (two assists) helped the Eagles rally from a 2-0 deficit in the nonleague game Friday at Jim Scott Stadium.
CdM scored twice within the first 12 minutes.
Senior Vicente Lopez scored for Estancia (3-0) in the 15th minute off an assist by Moreno.
Moreno followed with a penalty kick in the 30th minute. Junior Chris Gomez scored in the 50th minute off an assist by Barrios. Senior Alexis Plata completed the scoring with a goal in the 56th minute off of a corner kick from Barrios.
The Eagles play at Pacifica Monday at 3 p.m.

Costa Mesa 59, Mary Star of the Sea 26
LONG BEACH — Senior Nick Dawson scored 14 points for the Mustangs in a pool-play game of the St. Anthony tournament Friday.
Senior Jordan Walden added 13 points, while sophomore Sean Comer had seven points, eight rebounds and five assists for Costa Mesa (5-2).
The Mustangs play in the championship game against St. Anthony Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Estancia 50, Tustin 47
ORANGE — Sophomore Celia Duran scored 19 points for the Eagles in the pool-play game of the Orange tournament Friday.
Sophomore Bryanna Vernon added 15 points, all coming on five three-pointers.
Junior Gianna Jason had seven points, while senior Jenny Rubalcava had six points for Estancia (2-5), which plays against Century Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

NEWPORT COAST — Maddie Culberson was one of four Sage Hill players who scored in the nonleague win Friday.
Erika Lynn-Green, Meg Crade and Franny D’Agostino scored one goal each for the Lightning (4-2-0).
Sage Hill returns to action Friday when it plays host to Costa Mesa at 3:15 p.m.
