Birkley Sigband scored twice and Annie Alvarado added a goal for CdM, which outscored Irvine, 5-0, in the second half.

Alvarado had two assists and Sydney Raguse, Amanda Stephenson and Monica Venturini added assists for CdM (18-1-1, 7-0 in league), which won its 15th straight game. Sarah Cox had five saves and Kendall Mulvaney added one save.

Coach Bryan Middleton said Corona del Mar, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Divison I, can secure its second straight outright league title by beating University Feb. 2. CdM is trying to get the home game moved to Jim Scott Stadium, Middleton said, because the CdM field is still in poor shape.
