SANTA BARBARA — Junior Kevin Tillie had 11 kills to lead the No. 2-ranked Anteaters to a 25-12, 25-15, 25-23 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation win Wednesday.

Sophomore middle blocker Scott Kevorken had 10 kills for UCI (15-3, 11-3 in the MPSF).

Sophomore outside hitter Jeremy Dejno added eight kills and two aces, while senior opposite Carson Clark totaled seven kills and three aces. Senior middle blocker Dan McDonnell recorded six kills, while setter Chris Austin had 39 assists.

UCSB, ranked No. 12, is 5-12, 3-10.

UCI will play at No. 1 UCLA Saturday at 7 p.m.

Orange Coast def. San Diego Mesa

COSTA MESA — Freshman opposite Dillon Emery finished with 14 kills and led the Pirates to a 25-19, 25-17, 25-18 sweep in a Pacific Coast Conference match on Wednesday.

John Christian, a former Corona del Mar High player, had 10 kills for OCC (5-4, 2-1 in conference).

Chris Van Vurren contributed seven kills and four service aces.

SANTA ANA — Amy Hartwell, an Estancia High product, went two for four in the Pirates’ Orange Empire Conference game on Wednesday.

Katelyn O’Banion went two for two with one walk for OCC (6-17, 0-7 in conference).

COSTA MESA — Lucas Pereira won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, to lead the way for the No. 6-ranked Lions Wednesday at Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

Vanguard improved to 5-4.

IRVINE — Kristina Smith won at No. 1 singles to help lead the Anteaters to the nonconference win Wednesday.

Courtney Byron (No. 2), Kat Facey (No. 4) and Ali Facey (No. 6) also won in singles for UCI (8-4).
