High School Roundup: CdM boys’ lacrosse wins again

SAN FRANCISCO — Senior goalie Michael Ortlieb made 13 saves, helping the Sea Kings, ranked fifth in the state by laxpower.com, win their second game at the Jerry Langkammer Invitational at St. Ignatius Prep on Friday.

CdM improved to 13-0 on the season.

Jack Ortlieb finished with three goals and Michael Keasey had three assists.

The Sea Kings close out tournament play Saturday with a game against San Jose Bellarmine Prep.

Tournament of Champions

SANTA BARBARA -Newport Harbor spilt a pair of matches Friday.

The Sailors opened the tournament with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-18 win over Long Beach Wilson. Kevin Rakestraw led Newport with 15 kills, Clay Carr had 12 kills and Max Richley had 11 digs.

Santa Barbara beat the Sailors in the second round, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-14. Rakestraw had 20 kills to lead Newport Harbor and Richley had 22 digs.
