Pirates end regular season with home win

COSTA MESA — The Orange Empire Conference champion Pirates concluded their regular season with a home win Thursday at OCC.
Joel Licon had a two-RBI single to left for OCC in the sixth inning, helping the Pirates (31-4-1, 18-3 in conference) rally from a 2-0 deficit. Eilert Meyers, Boog Powell and Stefan Sabol also had RBIs for OCC.
Brandon Brennan improved to 9-1 after pitching five innings of relief. He allowed a run on three hits, striking out five and walking one. Josh Evans pitched a scoreless nitnh to earn his second save of the year.
OCC, ranked No. 1 in the state, begins the Southern California Regionals on May 5. The Pirates will play at home, against the winner of a play-in game Tuesday.
