OCC men’s golf wins third consecutive conference title
CHINO HILLS — The Orange Coast College men’s golf team won its third straight Orange Empire Conference title on Monday at Los Serranos Golf Course.
The Pirates, who played 18 holes on both of Los Serranos’ courses, finished first on the North Course with a score of 360 and third on the South Course with a 378.
OCC went 62-8 on the season, followed by Cypress (52-18) and Santiago (46-24), which finished second and third, respectively.
The Pirates were led by Jaime Moreno and Kyle Frame on the North Course. They each carded two-under-par 70s.
OCC’s Chris Cochran shot 72.
The rest of the Pirates golfers were Marcus Mercado-Kiel (73), Adam Oser (75) and Mike Squillace (78).
On the South Course, Moreno and Mercado-Kiel each had 74s. Oser collected a 75, followed by Frame (77), Cochran (78) and Squillace (80).
Moreno, Cochran, Frame and Squillace each earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors for finishing in the top 10 in scoring.
Cypress’ Paul Gomez was the Orange Empire Conference MVP.
OCC next competes in the Southern California Regional tournament at Glendora Country Club Monday. The 36-hole event begins at 7:15 a.m.
