GLENDALE — Sophomore Karlee Riggs had 10 kills to lead the Pirates to a 25-10, 25-22, 25-15 season-opening win Thursday.

Sophomore Morgan Link had nine kills, sophomore Allison Lumsden had 30 assists and sophomore Andi Frisina had four service aces for OCC (1-0).

Glendale is 1-3.

The Pirates play at Citrus Friday at 5 p.m.

WHITTIER — Sara Gomez knocked in a rebound in the 60th minute to propel the visiting Pirates in the nonconference game Thursday.
