CYPRESS — Sophomore outside hitter Karlee Riggs had a team-high 18 kills as the Pirates swept, 25-21, 25-16, 28-26, the Orange Empire Conference match Wednesday.

Dana Nicholson added 10 kills for Orange Coast (12-0, 6-0 in conference). Allison Lumsden had 37 assists and Andi Frisina added 12 digs.

The Pirates play at rival Golden West on Friday at 6 p.m. in a first-place showdown. Golden West is also undefeated in conference, OCC Coach Chuck Cutenese said.

COSTA MESA — Goalkeeper Lauren Terry recorded a shutout, helping the ninth-ranked Lions improve to 7-0 in Golden State Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.

Jordan Davison, Rachel Rucireta and Veronica Aguilar each recorded goals for Vanguard (11-2 overall).
