High School Roundup: CdM boys’ XC team wins PCL title

ORANGE — Teddy Parks, Reid Meckler and Spencer Keith finished 3-4-5 to lead Corona del Mar to the championship with 41 points on the three-course at Irvine Regional Park Friday.
Parks finished in 15 minutes, 20 seconds (a 15-second improvement on his personal record), Meckler came in at 15:26 (a nine-second PR) and Keith 15:37.
Greg May was 14th in 15:59 and Tanner Love finished 15th in 16:02 for CdM, which advanced to the CIF Southern Section preliminaries Nov. 10 at Mt. San Antonio College.
Woodbridge came in second with 60 points, followed by Northwood (67), Beckman (79), University (129) and Irvine (141).

Dana Hills 15, Newport Harbor 3
NEWPORT HARBOR — The Sailors’ season came to an end after losing in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs Friday.
Seniors Megan Bathen and Kaitlyn Cosenza won two of three sets at No. 1 doubles for Newport Harbor.
Freshman Baylee Bakkila earned one win at No. 3 singles for the Sailors (15-6).

ORANGE — Corona del Mar finished third with 94 points at Irvine Regional Park Friday to qualify for the CIF Southern Section preliminaries Nov. 10 at Mt. San Antonio College.
Lilly Schmidt led the Sea Kings, finishing 15th in 18 minutes, 34 seconds, a six-second improvement on her personal record.
Elin Wolker was 16th in 18:38 (an 18-second PR), Darcie Marshall came in 19th in 18:52, Kirsten Hansen finished 20th in 18:54 and Isabella Solomon was 24th in 18:59, a personal best.
Woodbridge won the meet with 30 points ahead of runner-up Northwood (39). Irvine was fourth with 108 points followed by University (127) and Beckman (132).
