NEWPORT BEACH — Landon Knight shot even-par 36 to earn medalist honors for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club Thursday.
Brad Tapfer (37), Mason Moody (38), Danny Willett (41) and Max Meisenheimer (41) also scored for Newport Harbor (6-1, 1-0 in league).

COSTA MESA — Jake Stone and Brad Erhorn both shot three-over-par 39 to help the Eagles win the nonleague match Thursday at Mesa Verde Country Club Thursday.
Courtland Lee (40), Aaron Wood (42), Bill Crosson (42) also scored for Estancia (2-4), which opens Orange Coast League play Tuesday against Costa Mesa at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.

IRVINE — Tanner Tremaine and Adam Wang shared medalist honors, as both shot four-over-par 40 at Strawberry Farms Golf Course Thursday.
Sam Zheng shot his best score of 43 to contribute to the win for Sage Hil (1-4).

LAGUNA NIGUEL — Drew Hanson shot two-over-par 38 for the Sea Kings, who lost for the second time to the Dolphins Thursday at El Niguel Country Club.
Chase Wheatley shot 39, and Karick Brown and Walter Frome both carded a 41 for CdM, which lost to Dana Hills by three strokes on Monday. That loss ended the Sea Kings’ 45-match winning streak that dated back to 2011.

ANAHEIM — Jacob Sperling had four kills for the Eagles in the nonleague match Thursday.
Loara won, 25-10, 25-11, 25-12. Estancia dropped to 0-6.

NEWPORT COAST — Seniors Jay Murray, Tom Fenner, Charlie Kim and Jorge Ordaz led a strong defense to help the Lightning deal Yorba Linda its first loss of the season Thursday.
Lucas Ellison had four goals and four assists, while Logan Hamilton tallied five goals and three assists for the Lightning.

Newport Harbor 9, Servite 7
NEWPORT BEACH — Riley Peterson scored three goals to lead the Sailors (2-4) in their nonleague win at home Wednesday night.
Peterson also won six face-offs, and scooped up ten groundballs. Brandon Rausch scored, assisted twice, won seven face-offs, and collected seven groundballs.
Other scorers for the Sailors were Brian Team (two goals), Ritter Hagadorn (one goal, one assist), Garrett Farthing (one goal, one assist), and Chris Buchanan (one goal).
The Sailors were led defensively by Clay Smyth (two takeaways, three groundballs), Nathan Frank (two takeaways, one knockdown, two groundballs), Tyler Palmquist (three takeaways), and Chaz Beek (one takeaway, three groundballs). Christian Ruelas posted eight saves.
The Sailors return to action at home this Saturday at 1 p.m. against St. Margaret’s.
