Men’s Water Polo: Four locals on Team USA
Corona del Mar High product John Mann and three former UC Irvine standouts have been named to the USA roster for the FINA World League Super Final in men’s water polo, June 11-16 in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
Mann joins Anteater alums Tim Hutten, Brandon Johnson and Greg Enloe on the 15-man roster, announced Monday by Coach Dejan Udovicic.
Hutten, a two-time Olympian, was the 2008 recipient of the prestigious Peter J. Cutino Award given annually to the top player in the NCAA. He was a two-time All-American while competing for UCI.
Mann scored three goals for Team USA in the 2012 London Olympic Games. He won the Peter J. Cutino Award in 2006 while at Cal.
Johnson, a three-time All-American for the ‘Eaters, scored 196 goals from 2007-10. He tallied 11 goals in four games this past weekend to help the USA earn first place in the FINA World League Prelims.
Enloe scored 95 goals in four seasons (2006-09) with the ‘Eaters.
