A day of running

Edison High will stage Resolution Run, a 5K and kids’ fun run, Dec. 15. The first-year event will be held at Fairview Park (2501 Placentia Avenue) in Costa Mesa.

Proceeds from the event support local youth at Edison High and The McKenna Claire Foundation, a Huntington Beach 501©3 charitable foundation supporting pediatric brain cancer research. The foundation started in honor of local 7-year old McKenna Claire who was diagnosed with a rare inoperable brain stem tumor (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) and passed away in July 2011. Its mission is to speed research and understanding of DIPG tumors and future treatments at Monje Lab at Stanford University.

The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. with participant fees set at $40 per adult and $30 per students. The cost is $20 for the Kids Fun Run which starts at 9 a.m. To register as a participant or potential sponsor, visit https://www.resolutionrun.info. Registration checks made payable to EHS Foundation can be sent to Edison High School (21400 Magnolia Street, Huntington Beach, CA, 92646). Registration also will be available the day of the event.
