Laguna Beach police have not arrested anyone in connection with a robbery at gunpoint two weeks ago outside of a Laguna Beach drug store, Sgt. Louise Callus confirmed in an email Thursday.

A gun-wielding thief took $290 worth of prescription medications from a woman at 3:30 p.m. May 23 after she left Laguna Sunset Drug, 944 Glenneyre St., police said.

The uninjured woman, a 27-year-old Laguna Beach resident, filed a report with police May 28, Capt. Jason Kravetz said in an email.

The woman had gone to the pharmacy to get her prescriptions filled, Kravetz said. When she returned to her vehicle, the thief showed a gun in his waistband, told her he was robbing her and grabbed the medication.

The woman said the man who robbed her was an acquaintance, according to Kravetz.

The man fled in a car, though police did not say what type. Police also did not specify what kinds of medication were stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.
