LA MIRADA — Hailey Gordon had 11 kills in 13 swings for an .846 hitting percentage, but the visiting Lions fell, 20-25, 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 16-14, to the No, 13-ranked Eagles in a Golden State Athletic Conference match on Tuesday.
Juanae Johnson had a team- best 15 kills for Vanguard (7-13, 4-3 in conference).
Biola is 15-7, 6-2.

New Mexico State invitational
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — UC Irvine junior Camille Wagg finished a career-best fifth to help the Anteaters finish fifth as a team in the 54-hole event completed Wednesday at the New Mexico State Golf Course.
The Anteaters shot a three-day total of 914 (293-314-307) for their third consecutive top-five finish of the fall. Host New Mexico State won the tournament with a score of 894.
Wagg shot 70-77-76—203. Her opening-round was her career-best score. She led the field with a 4.67 average on Par-five holes and was tied for second with eight birdies.
UCI’s Kaley In was 13th at 229, Breanne Jones tied for 18th at 232 and Avery French was 21st at 233.
UCI will conclude the fall season at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Oct. 23-25.
