Sugar Plum Arts & Crafts Festival will present hand-crafted merchandise made in the U.S. from more than 120 vendors, including antiques and collectibles. The event is from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at OC Fair & Event Center, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Admission is free. ‘ArtVenture’

The City of Costa Mesa’s Cultural Arts Committee and Parks and Community Services Department will present a three-day arts event featuring more than 100 pieces of art submitted by local community members. The event will kick off at 5:45 p.m. Friday with a welcome from city leaders and members of the Cultural Arts Committee. Food and beverages and entertainment will be provided. Saturday and Sunday will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The artwork will be displayed inside Cisco Home Showroom, SoCo Collection, 3303 Hyland Ave., Costa Mesa. Admission is free. Traveling photo exhibit

A free exhibit will pay tribute to more than 700 California men and women killed in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars with a display presented at Irvine Civic Center Plaza at Harvard Avenue and Alton Parkway.
