The 15th annual Hearts & Hands Community Service Day will honor Newport Beach, Irvine and Costa Mesa police with local government leaders from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 801 Dover Drive, Newport Beach. Balboa Island Museum

Balboa Island Museum will celebrate the home of Buddy Ebsen, who played Jed Clampett of “The Beverly Hillbillies,” with an event featuring dinner, live music and photo opportunities. The event is from 4 to 8 p.m. at 530 S. Bay Front, Balboa Island. The property was sold and the new owners offered the home as a venue to benefit the Balboa Island Museum. Tickets are $50. ‘American Alchemy’

Newport Beach City Arts Commission presents “American Alchemy,” an exhibit by artist Joe Lewis. The receptions is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Newport Beach Central Library’s Friends Meeting Room, 1000 Avocado Ave., Newport Beach.
