Biz News: Rutan & Tucker names 8 new partners

Rutan & Tucker, a business law firm based in Costa Mesa, recently announced that Chelsea Epps, Jennifer Farrell, John Fitzgerald, Jeff Fohrer, Kevan Graydon, Heather Herd, Bill Shaeffer and Brandon Sylvia were named partners.

“We are pleased to elevate these outstanding attorneys to the level of partner in recognition of the unique strengths they bring to our clients,” Steve Nichols, Rutan & Tucker’s managing partner, said in a statement.

Hoag opens Womanology center

Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach recently opened a Womanology center, a specialty clinic for pelvic floor disorders.

“What’s so special about Womanology is that it serves women of all ages, starting with the teen years all the way to menopause and beyond,” Salpi Salibian, director of clinical operations and program development for women’s outpatient health and wellness, said in a statement. “We have specialized programs to address the specific needs of all women in a fully supportive and compassionate manner.”

Womanology operated a private clinic in Irvine for 12 years before opening a second spot in Fullerton, according to a news release. Hoag acquired both sites in 2014.

The hospital offers a similar service for men called Restore Him.

Economist to present 2016 forecast at Newport event

The Orange County chapter of the Risk Management Association will present a 2016 economic forecast by Christopher Thornberg, founding partner of Beacon Economics LLC, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at The Pacific Club, 4110 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach.

Since 2006, Thornberg has served on the advisory board of Wall Street hedge fund Paulson & Co., and from 2008 to 2012, he was a chief economic advisor to the California controller’s office.

The cost to attend the event is $95 before Jan. 22 and $115 afterward.
