Around Town: Ex-Costa Mesa police chief receives Mayor’s Award

Roger Neth, Costa Mesa’s police chief from 1964 to 1986, was honored Tuesday by Costa Mesa Mayor Steve Mensinger with the Mayor’s Award.

The award comes after Neth, a longtime Costa Mesa resident, was honored last week by his alma mater, Newport Harbor High School, with entry into its alumni Hall of Fame.

Senior center relocating 2 programs for 3 days

The Costa Mesa Senior Center is moving some programming to the downtown Neighborhood Community Center from Wednesday through Friday to allow for termite treatment, city officials said.

SeniorServ and the mobility program will be at the community center, 1845 Park Ave.
