Ten probationers were arrested Monday by the Costa Mesa Police Department and Orange County Probation Department in a compliance check for offenders who were released early because of prison realignment, authorities said.

During the home checks, officers contacted 19 offenders and arrested 10 who were found to be violating their conditions of probation and are suspected of new criminal law violations, the Costa Mesa Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

Nine were arrested on suspicion of drug-related charges such as use and possession, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another Huntington Beach woman, 24, was arrested along with a 27-year-old woman and three men — ages 27, 25 and 23 — in the 2900 block of Babb Street.

The other two probationers, a 47-year-old man and 19-year-old man, were arrested in the 300 block of Princeton Drive and 2000 block of Meyer Place, respectively.

Police have not released the names of those arrested.
