Man arrested after rooftop masturbating incident

Costa Mesa police arrested a local transient Sunday morning after a man was seen masturbating on the roof of a business.

Police responded to the 1900 block of Pomona Avenue after someone reported the man touching himself on the roof of a two-story business about 10:30 a.m., said Sgt. Matt Selinske.

An employee went to the roof and performed a citizen’s arrest while police were en route, Selinske said.

When officers arrived, they arrested Sean Ficquette, 33, on suspicion of trespassing and indecent exposure.

Ficquette pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drug possession charges in February, according to court records.

In February 2013, he pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, burglary and use of a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to two years in prison and three years’ probation, court records show.
