Biz News: Grass-fed burger company coming to Eastside Costa Mesa
Burger Lounge, a grass-fed beef burger company founded in San Diego, is opening a new restaurant in Eastside Costa Mesa this week.
The restaurant replaces Bruxie, the waffle shop, at 279 E. 17th St.
Bruxie closed in November.
Big Hype Marketing opens in Costa Mesa
Julie Leffler, a former fashion and action sorts public relations specialist, has recently started a new firm called Big Hype Marketing.
“We are committed to delivering comprehensive and effective marketing solutions for our clients that will generate brand recognition and establish a position in the marketplace with the overall goal of building ongoing growth, sales and success,” Leffler said in a statement.
The company is based in Costa Mesa, 151 Kalmus Drive, Suite 120E.
Raising Cane’s donates to Costa Mesa shelter
Raising Cane’s, the Louisiana-based chicken tender chain that opened its first California restaurant in Costa Mesa last year, recently raised more than $80,000 for no-kill shelters and adoption centers across the country.
Of those funds, $733.92 has been donated to A Home 4 Ever Rescue, based in Costa Mesa.
“A big part of Raising Cane’s mission focuses on supporting our local communities. Providing animals with loving homes through organizations like ... Home 4 Ever Rescue is one of our most important goals,” Bobbi Frye, general manager of the Aliso Viejo Raising Cane’s location, said in a statement.
Aging conference comes to Costa Mesa
The Kasem Cares Conference on Aging is coming to Costa Mesa next month.
The event from April 21 to 23 takes place at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa hotel, 3050 Bristol St.
The conference will explore issues of elder abuse and features “informative educational programs, meaningful exhibits and stimulating speakers,” according to a news release.
