Owner follows stolen trailer in Costa Mesa; H.B. man arrested

Costa Mesa police arrested a Huntington Beach man on suspicion of stealing a trailer Tuesday after the trailer’s owner saw it rolling down Harbor Boulevard.

Police said the trailer was being stored at a lot at Warner Avenue and Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana when the lot’s owner saw someone drive away with it around 12:50 p.m.

The lot owner called the trailer’s owner, who started driving toward Harbor, Costa Mesa police Sgt. Bang Le said.

As he was driving, the owner of the trailer noticed it being pulled southbound on Harbor in Costa Mesa, Le said.

The owner called police and followed the trailer to 19th Street and Pomona Avenue, where officers pulled it over, Le said.

Police arrested Anthony James Dickerson, 33, on suspicion of stealing the trailer.
