Applications being taken for Newport Beach panels

Newport Beach is accepting applications from residents for positions on city boards, committees and commissions.

As of June 30, there will be two vacancies on the Board of Library Trustees, two available seats on the Building and Fire Board of Appeals and two seats on the Civil Service Board.

There also will be two seats up for grabs on both the Arts Commission and Planning Commission and one available seat on both the Harbor Commission and Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission.

Applications can be sent to the city clerk’s office until noon May 11. The office is at Bay E, second floor, 100 Civic Center Drive. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1768, Newport Beach, CA 92658.

Mayor Diane Dixon, Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Muldoon and Councilman Tony Petros will review applications and nominate would-be appointees. The nominees will be up for City Council approval in June.
