Artists sought for Newport exhibition

The Newport Beach Arts Commission is looking for artists to participate in the 52nd annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition next month.

Artists who are at least 18 years old may submit up to two original works of art to be displayed and judged during the one-day exhibition. The event allows the public to view and purchase art on display, and chat with artists while enjoying food, wine and music. A portion of the proceeds from sold works will benefit community art programs in Newport Beach.

Categories include painting and mixed media, sculpture and photography. There were 156 artists who participated last year.

The deadline for entries is May 27. Applications can be submitted online at CallforEntry.org. Eligibility and submission guidelines can be found on the city website at newportbeachca.gov/culturalarts.

Entry fees are $30 for one entry and $40 for two.

The exhibition will be held June 18 at the Newport Beach Civic Center.
