UC Irvine police are looking for a man who broke into a dorm and exposed himself to a student this week, according to authorities.

Police believe the man forced his way through a locked screen door to get into a student housing unit around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A student in a nearby bedroom was alerted to the break-in by noises coming from the living room, police said.

“The intruder entered the bedroom and exposed himself to the resident, who then chased the suspect out of the apartment,” according to a statement from UCI.

Police couldn’t find the man after a search of the area, but the student snapped a photo of him as he fled, the statement said.

Authorities described the man as Asian, in his 20s, about 5-foot-5, 150 pounds and clean-shaven with black hair. The photo shows him wearing a royal-blue long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.

Police asked that anyone who recognizes the man call Det. Sgt. Charles Chon or Officer Ray Keith at (949) 824-5223.
