Comedy and music highlight Laguna Beach radio station’s fundraiser

Laguna Beach radio station KX 93.5 FM presented its fundraiser “KXClusive” at the Montage Laguna Beach resort Friday evening with music, comedy and food.

The event raised more than $88,000 to support the station’s operating budget, according to KX founder Tyler Russell.

Comedian Rita Rudner was the emcee, and Orange County music group the Painbirds, featuring members of Sugar Ray and Train and Jeff “Skunk” Baxter of the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan, performed along with the band 133, including musicians Poul Pedersen, Nick Hernandez and Steve and Beth Wood.
