Around Town: Repticon rolls into fairgrounds this weekend

Repticon, two days of live animal seminars, pet supplies and raffles, arrives at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa on Saturday and Sunday.

The event will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

General admission is $10. Children ages 5-12 can enter for $5, and kids 4 and younger are admitted free. Parking is $8.

Segerstrom Center hosts veterans salute Saturday

The Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa will host a free Salute Our Veterans Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The public is invited to hear and see performers from the All-American Boys Chorus, Santa Ana College Dance, Patriot Brass Ensemble, Navy Band Southwest and more.

More than a dozen organizations that assist veterans and military families will be present, including the American Legion, Operation Interdependence, Furnishing Hope, Freedom Committee of Orange County, Patriots and Paws and Veterans First.

There also will be food trucks, games and other activities, including a Community Photo Mosaic for which pictures taken onsite will be incorporated into a 12-by-8-foot photo flag mural.

The event will be at the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza, 600 Town Center Drive.
