Mariners Church lights Christmas tree tonight

Mariners Church in Irvine will host its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration Friday, featuring music, shopping opportunities, food, family activities and even real snow.

The free event, which is open to everyone, will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The tree lighting will begin at 6:30.

Highlights include the Mariners Bookstore Christmas Boutique, the Mariners Church college group performing a wacky version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” kids playing in real snow, crafts, cookie decorating, Christmas sing-alongs, games, free cocoa and apple cider, and burgers and pizza available for purchase.
