Children share in holiday spirit at 10th annual Costa Mesa party

The 10th annual Sharing the Spirit Holiday Party welcomed hundreds of Orange County children, many of whom do not have permanent homes, to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on Friday night.

The children, ages 5 to 16, traveled from local shelters or agencies such as the Thomas House Family Shelter of Garden Grove, Mercy House of Santa Ana and Project Hope Alliance, based in Costa Mesa.

The children were matched with volunteer guides for different activities.

The late-night party included photos with Santa Claus, rides on the reindeer carousel, games, ornament making, face painting and nail, hair and makeup stations.
