Police arrested a Pomona man Monday afternoon after a caller reported an attempt to get into an abandoned business in Costa Mesa, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched to an industrial area in the 3300 block of Harbor Boulevard about 3:25 p.m. after two men were reported trying to cut through a fence, Costa Mesa police Sgt. Dan Miles said.

The caller also told police that the men had a stake-bed truck with the name Baker Party Rentals on it, according to Miles.

A truck matching that description had been reported stolen earlier Monday, Miles said.

When police arrived the men fled, according to authorities.

A Huntington Beach police helicopter helped track one of the men, who took off on a bike he got from the back of the truck, Miles said.

Officers caught up with him and detained him, Miles said.

After determining the Baker Party Rentals truck was indeed stolen, officers arrested the man on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and for an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property, Miles said.

Police identified the man as 45-year-old Dylan Ryan Cutillo.

The second man seen at the abandoned business got away, Miles said. His description was not available.
