Irvine police have arrested two people suspected of stealing more than $13,000 of high-end alcohol from grocery stores.
On Monday, employees at an Albertsons on Quail Hill Parkway in Irvine reported that a man and a woman had stolen alcohol from the store about 9:40 a.m., according to police.
Shortly afterward, police believe the pair went to a second Albertsons on Alton Parkway and stole another batch of alcohol.

After waiting a few hours, the pair tried again at the Alton Parway store at about 12:40 p.m., police said. But this time the pair fled without any alcohol after store employees saw them.
Officers stopped the pair in the parking lot and found more than $1,400 of alcohol in their car, police said.
Authorities think the suspects might be responsible for stealing pricey booze from four stores in Irvine and a fifth in Mission Viejo.
Police identified the suspects as Quinette Hall, 41, of Compton and Richard White, 49, of Inglewood.
